Ranking The East and West All-Star Starters

Andrew Wiggins is an All-Star starter and Devin Booker isn’t. 2022 is off to a wacky start, to say the least.”

The 2022 All-star starters were revealed on Thursday night on TNT. And of course, there was a debate about a couple of players that were named starters. But that’s every year.

10. Andrew Wiggins SF (Warriors)

Andrew Wiggins is having his best season to date averaging 18.1 PPG, 4.2 RPG, and 2.1 APG. The 8th year vet has never been selected to an All-star game until now, which is very much deserved. All he needed was to be put in a winning culture to flourish and to show why he was selected #1 overall back in 2014.

9. DeMar DeRozan SG/SF (Bulls)

DeMar DeRozan is appearing in his 5th All-star game and he’s playing at an all-time high with the Chicago Bulls. He is averaging 26.4 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 4.8 APG and has the Bulls sitting at (30-18) in the East.

8. Trae Young PG (Hawks)

The 4th year guard will be playing in his 2nd All-star game and it’s no surprise. Young is averaging 27.7 PPG, 3.9 RPG, and 9.3 APG. His stellar play never goes unnoticed and he will definitely be fun to watch in the All-star game.

7. Stephen Curry PG (Warriors)

The greatest shooter of all time comes in at 7th in this great field of talent. Curry will be appearing in his 8th All-star game as the leader in all-time threes made in league history which is a very cool sentence to write. It’s cool because we get to watch Steph Curry and we shouldn’t take him for granted. So let’s not take this All-star game for granted either.

6. Kevin Durant SF (Nets)

Now please don’t slander me. In my opinion, Kevin Durant is the best player in the league, but he is injured and his skills haven’t been at full capacity. Therefore I have him at 6. Durant is leading the league in scoring, pouring in 29.3 PPG.

5. Ja Morant PG (Grizzlies)

Ja Morant is having a career year in just his 3rd season. He is averaging 25.8 PPG, 5.9 RPG, and 6.9 APG and has led the Grizzlies to a (34-17) record which is 3rd best in the West. Morant is the truth and he is a force to be dealt with.

4. Lebron James SF (Lakers)

The oldest player in the All-star game just so happens to be the leading vote-getter, which landed him the captain of the West. Lebron will be appearing in his 18th All-star game which is just insane to me. And at age 37, Lebron is putting up 29.1 PPG, 7.7 RPG, and 6.3 APG. Only Lebron could still be playing at an all-time clip at age 37. It’s simply unheard of.

3. Giannis Antetokounmpo PF (Bucks)

The Reigning NBA Finals MVP is having another amazing year. Giannis is posting 28.8 PPG, 11.3 RPG, and 5.9 APG which are MVP caliber numbers. The Greek Freak has the Bucks sitting at (31-20) in the East.

2. Nikola Jokic C (Nuggets)

The Joker is a player like no other, he’s a bonafide superstar. Jokic is making another case to be the MVP putting up 26.2 PPG, 13.8 RPG, and 7.7 APG. And he’s doing this without his two running mates, Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr who have both been sidelined with injuries.

1. Joel Embiid C (76ers)

The ultimate big man is having one of his best years in the NBA. He’s not only putting up the eye-popping numbers every night, but he’s also playing consistently. Embiid is the clear front runner for MVP in my eyes right now and his play is solidifying that. He’s putting up 28.9 PPG, 10.7, and 4.3 APG. Embiid has led the 76ers to (29-19) which is 6th in the East. And remember, he’s doing all of this without that one guy that doesn’t like to shoot the ball.
